Simplicity

Simplicity in a world of confusion

It can be difficult to understand the world of finance.

Not only are the markets constantly moving, but interest rates, currency exchanges, legislation, and even the terminology used to describe the financial world are complicated and changing.

Given the prevalence of money in our daily lives, it is unfortunate that even the words to describe financials are hard to understand.  What does the Federal Reserve bank have to do with my home mortgage?  What effect does Congress have on retirement funds?  Just what is inflation?

Complexity is Anxiety

Where there is complexity, there can often be anxiety.  When it comes to money, we have found there is a great amount of anxiety.  It does not help that the media and journalism often preys upon this anxiety by stirring up sensational financial news on a daily basis.

Clarity is Simplicity

Given the above, one of the easiest way to make sense of the landscape and ignore the excess noise is to simplify your life.  Simplicity comes from knowing the priorities that you need to focus on and the easiest way to do that is to have a strategy.

A good strategy should be a roadmap that is based upon your current situation, anticipates your future needs, and has a design to take you to where you want to be.  A solid strategy should take into account the different effects of market turmoil, rising interest rates, changes in legislation, etc.  In other words, a good strategy should effectively take most anxiety off the table by providing clarity and confidence in your future.  Now, there are no silver bullets and a good strategy will still not ensure a loss of value is periods of declining markets.  But a strategy can help keep your eye on the ball and be a North Start during stormy times.

A strategy can pursue this only by being elegantly simple.  Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail to get started on knowing your strategy going forward.
